The Old Poops
We ain't always been Old Poops.
We used to be the fastest couple on
Okinawa.
Bet'cha don't know what kind of car
that is...
Ok, it's a Toyota S800, it weighed
1300 pounds, and after we pulled the stock 2-banger out and replaced
it with a Corolla Sprinter engine, it was pretty fast.
It was simple, crude, sporty, but lots
of fun at the time and we liked it. After all, we won all those
trophies with it -
Eventually there were kids, we needed
something more practical, and we sold the Toyota. Probably a mistake,
but we made a few of those...
Then the kids grew up and moved out,
practicality didn't seem quite as important, & we decided
it was time for another fun car.
Just one problem, all the new cars
look like they came out of the same mold, and then sat in the
sun too long and bloated up. Yuck.
So we decided we wouldn't get a new
car, instead we would look for a used car.
In times of financial instability,
it is good to invest in Precious Metal. So we made an investment.
We found a 17 year old Acura with only
20,000 miles on it.
And it is REALLY, REALLY, REALLY FAST!
(Not to mention being extremely
civilized... us Golden-Agers like our comforts, ya know...)
